Join us for our annual potluck family picnic, Sunday June 9th from 12:30-3:00pm at the Beaver Brook Reservation in Waltham, MA.

Bring a picnic lunch/dish and games to share!  Dress to get wet in the brook or at the spray park!

Location: Beaver Brook is located at the corner of Trapelo Rd and Waverley Oaks Rd (Route 60) on the Belmont/Waltham Line. The parking lot is on Waverly Oaks Rd about 100 feet south of Trapelo Rd. To get an online map use the address: 524 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham Ma 02452 Note that Beaverbrook Reservation is on both sides of Trapelo Rd and that the picnic field is on the south side of Trapelo.

Annual potluck family picnic, Sunday June 10th from 12:30-3 at Beaver Brook Reservation (Trapelo Road and Waverley Oaks Road intersection on the Belmont-Waltham line). Enjoy an afternoon outdoors! Meet at the picnic site near the brook (lower field) behind playground. Kids may play in the brook or spray park so bring bathing suits, water shoes and towels. Bring lunch or snack and something to share. (Everyone is expected to help clean-up what you bring – – thank you!). Hope to see you there!

Join us for our annual Kids Carnaval on Sunday, March 25th from 1-4pm, at Gibbs Gym, 41 Foster St., Arlington, MA.

  • Crafts (cascarones, paper flowers, worry dolls, coloring, and more!)
  • Music and dance by La Piñata!
  • Adoption Travel information table hosted by The Ties Program.  Please stop by and ask questions!
  • Barefoot Books table (browse and buy world culture and Spanish language books!)
  • Mayan Hands artisan/crafts table
  • Refreshments

Donation requested at door

Volunteer opportunities:  Host a craft table, monitor games/activities, Mercado (sell Guatemalan crafts or items, other ideas).  Contact us.

Beaver Brook Reservation (by the brook at Waverley Oaks playground on Trapelo Rd) in Belmont!  Bring picnic and food to share, blankets, chairs, water shoes and bathing suits (for the brook and water park).  We’ll have toys, water, popsicles, and fun!

GFN Annual Family Picnic at Beaver Brook Reservation in Belmont on Saturday, June 5th from 12:30pm-3:30pm.

Thanks everyone!  We had a great afternoon and the weather held out!

Outdoor Fun for Guatemalan Families, Guatemalan Adoptive Families and all their Friends. Free! Potluck! Donations accepted.

Meet other GFN families! Bring a blanket, picnic lunch and dish to share. Kids love wading in the brook, and the spray park will be open. Bathing suits, water shoes, and towels are advised!

Directions: (Mapquest Andros Diner 628 Trapelo Rd. Belmont for best directions.) There is limited on-street parking on Trapelo Rd. Additional parking is available in the lot at the Waverley Oaks Road entrance, just past the playground and take a left around the corner from Trapelo Rd.  Follow the footpath down the hill to the picnic area.

Thank you, everyone, for a great Kids Carnival this year! We enjoyed making cascarones, worry dolls, and paper flowers. Music and dance by La Piñata was fantastic!
